We are able to apply for further funds from public donors, such as the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) or the United Nations for our projects.
For every euro donated, we can receive an additional 9 euros from public funds.
Your donation, therefore, has a tenfold effect.
Thanks to your generous donation we are able to raise funds from institutional donors such as the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Germany, United Nations Organisations, and other associations. With your donation, we are able to do the first step and implement our projects. It also gives us a basis to convince institutional donors of our great project idea and to receive funding to enhance our reach. We are committed to showing clearly where donations go and ensure that every cent supports our mission effectively.
We have committed ourselves to responsibly using the donations received, aligning with nonprofit financial transparency standards. Therefore, our annual reports get reviewed by an independent third-party auditor. Please have a look at our latest annual report for a detailed overview of where donations go and how our finances are managed.
Are donations spent in developing countries efficiently and according to the project targets? Are budgets followed closely? Is the reporting precise and transparent? Which measures are necessary to evaluate projects in line with charity accountability standards?
The country offices, our headquarters as well as our Executive Director personally constantly deal with these and many other financial questions. Therefore, Vision Hope takes on responsibility for all accounting on a project level or country office level according to the strict guidelines of the donors and charity accountability standards. The local partner organisations receive advance payments and are required to account for them before they receive additional funds.
Our financial reports are audited on the basis of the project budgets agreed on at the start of the project and the implemented project activities. All receipts and accounting are checked by the country office, the CEO and the treasurer of the board to ensure compliance with charities and not for profit governance standards.
According to our bylaws, our accounting has to be checked by two competent internal auditors appointed by the board. In addition to this internal audit, the accounting is also checked by an independent external auditing company to meet the requirements of charity accountability standards.
By being transparent about where donations go, we reinforce our commitment to nonprofit financial transparency and ensure that our supporters can see the impact of their contributions.
