Catastrophe in the crisis: Earthquake relief Syria
Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by the earthquake in Syria and urgently need assistance. People in Syria have already been suffering from the civil war since 2011. The additional disaster has now brought further suffering and destruction.
The earthquake catastrophe in Turkey and Syria is deeply saddening. Our partner charities in Syria were able to take immediate action and are distributing blankets and food. The relief has started, but the needs are growing. There is a lack of shelter and food, but also income opportunities have failed and there is a need for medical assistance, including psychological support.
The offices of our partners suffered some damage from the earthquakes. But more importantly, all of their employees have been affected themselves, and their families have lost their belongings, some have damaged or completely lost their homes and some have even lost relatives.
Our partner organizations provide vital relief in Syria, addressing urgent needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare to alleviate the impact of the ongoing crisis. They focus on empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable development projects, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency. Also, psychosocial support programs are facilitated to assist individuals and families in coping with the emotional challenges induced by the conflict in Syria. Through our Syria relief efforts, we aim to reach as many affected people as possible. Supporting our charity in Syria ensures that vital assistance is provided to those most in need, helping them rebuild their lives amidst ongoing turmoil.
